Exercise helps you expend more energy which is a vital part of weight control. Not all goals will be about weight loss though. Some can use exercise to gain weight in muscle.
Exercise releases natural chemicals like serotonin which make you feel good. It is a great way to manage the symptoms of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and stress.
Exercise can help manage current health conditions, but it can also prevent them getting more severe or even prevent other conditions. It is always recommended to check with your GP first though as each client is unique.
Doing physical activity in a group is a great way to socialise and meet people in a similar position. For some people with disabilities, it can be even more important to have that social contact in a supportive and safe environment.
Having support and guidance from a qualified exercise professional can build your knowledge and confidence when starting new exercises or using new equipment. As you reach your goals, your motivation and confidence should also rise.
As we age, it is so important to keep using our mind and body to maintain what they are capable of. Mobility is key to so many activities of daily living. Exercise can help retain function and promote independence.
